Taking Your Look From Day to Night

Our schedules today are pretty chaotic. Versatility in what we put on has become a necessity to facilitate taking our outfit from day to evening. Since we're all over scheduled and no one has time for the day to night outfit change, key elements of a wardrobe should be able to take you from the desk to dinner without compromising style. Who wants to lug a bag with a complete outfit change to the office? It's actually pretty simple to wear the same outfit from desk to drinks—as long as you have a key foundation piece.

Topping the list is—yes, you guessed it—a dress. Today women want to look polished and feminine. They migrate to the dress because it's easy and versatile and you can dress it up or down with accessories. Most dresses, black or otherwise will have just enough interesting details to work for any occasion. Our Forest Twig Print Dress is just that. It has 3/4 sleeve making it more conservative for the office but with the edgy print it can be dressed up for night time. If prints aren't your thing, our Grecian Dress is flirty and fun. Wear it with sandals for day and then put on a pair block heels for night.

Then there's an effortless update with a tunic. Tunics are universally flattering as are tone on tone color combinations. Our Tee Tunic with Train is great paired over crisp jeans and flats. Then for night, slip on a pair of wedges and a funky necklace. For something a little more elegant, out V- Neck Embroidered Blouse is made from silk and features romantic bell sleeves and floral embroidery.

BACI_resizeimages_050718_2The key to transitioning from day to evening looks is all about the accessories. This is by far the most efficient way to change up your outfits. By taking some good daytime pieces and a few blingy accessories, you may just realize that your night-out outfit is already in your closet. If you normally carry a larger purse, swap it out for a chic clutch. If you're wearing a blazer over a dress during the day, switch it up with a sheer shoulder wrap and some more refined earrings, or a statement piece necklace. Basically anything glitzy or shiny will instantly dress up your outfit.

Shoes are a huge piece of dressing an outfit up or down. For example, you could opt to wear boots or flats during the day and change over to a dressy heel for the evening, or change from a low-key colored shoe to a bold colored heel that matches your clutch. By changing over to heels — and especially a bold heel that matches another accessory —you instantly have a dressier, pulled together ensemble.

Many of us never seem to find anything that realistically allows us to not feel either horribly overdressed during the day or under dressed at night. But if you try, day-to-evening looks actually aren't all that complicated — you just need to have a few of the right items, and more importantly, know how to pair the items you already have.
